And Trinity itself never seemed like too big of a threat to me since their troopers aren’t often portrayed as inept. But they can easily be forgotten due to lack of screen time. Their motives are actually pretty sensible, even relatable. I think the main problem lies in how little you actually encounter them. Yeah, the villains in the reboot trilogy aren’t too compelling. It’s not a masterful tale, but at least it’s solid. You should probably finish the story before talking about how clunky the story is. It really is the same thing from TR2013 going into Rise. Not only were the controls refined in Shadow, but the combat arenas were also greatly improved. Of course, you should naturally consider the combat in ROTR to be clunky compared to its successor. I personally love all three games of the reboot trilogy, but I think many praise Rise of the Tomb Raider as the best primarily, because it’s sort of a mix between TR2013 and SOTR.
